Guide - Accordia and Clay Farm, Cambridge

To support the 2023 Academy of Urbanism World Congress, being held in Cambridge between the 21st and 23rd June 2023, HLME has researched, designed, produced and sponsored two short development guides. The first guide covers the RIBA Stirling Prize winning Accordia Development with the second guide covering the multiple award winning Clay Farm Development. Both guides provide a variety of information about the developments.

The guides have been produced to accompany a walking tour entitled ‘Encouraging design quality in new housing developments’ which is being given during the Congress by Peter Studdert, former Head of Planning at Cambridge City Council, Robin Nicholson of architects Cullinan Studio and chair of the Cambridgeshire Quality Panel, Jonathan Brookes of Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service and Jonathan Gimblett, Founding Director of Development Consultancy HLME.

Prior to founding HLME in early 2022, Jonathan Gimblett worked at Countryside Properties and led the planning and design teams responsible for various phases of the Clay Farm Development including the internationally recognised exemplar ‘Abode’ development designed by architects Proctor and Matthews and the award winning ‘Aura’ developments designed by architects Tate Hindle.

Copies of the guides can be downloaded from the links below.
